Facility
Maximus recently purchased the former Kraft-Maxwell House facility in Houston, Texas. The plant is the largest and most integrated coffee facility in North America and has been in operation for over 60 years. The Maxmius plant offers:
- Over 20 roasting and packaging lines for foodservice and retail use,
- 11 roasters and more than 45 grinders,
- In-house soluble and instant processing,
- A natural decaffeination plant, and
- Powder soft drink production.
The Maximus facility has more the 900,000 square feet covering over 17 acres in downtown with an additional offsite storage linked through a sophisticated rail system. As the fourth-largest city in the United States, Houston has
- more than 700,000 rail cars pass through the region annually,
- 575 miles of highways and expressways, and
- the largest port in the U.S. by number of tonnage.
